Alive and kicking!
Monday, January 17th, 2011Welcome to 2011 and those who may stumble across this blog. It’s a place where product details for Left Coast Simulations and general views of the Microsoft Flight Simulator franchise are expressed.
First, Where have I been? Long story, so I’ll use the clip notes. After being off work for personal reasons up until last summer, I decided it was time to get a job. Took some (cough…) training courses, got certified and went out to see what was available. I did have a decent job up to the start of 2008, but left for the personal reasons mentioned above. Then the economy decided to take a dump. But I wasn’t able to assess just how bad things were, as I had other responsibilities to tend to. Only when I went job seeking did I discover just how bad things were, or at least in my area.
My job search was not for a high level, high skill occupation. I’m blessed to have a house that only I own, so my needs are less than what others might have. But even with the hopes of a low-paying, menial job this job search wasn’t to be a success. Shame on some of the companies for the fraud and unlawful activities they want to inflict upon a section of the population that just wants to earn a “somewhat” living.
Then I realized I didn’t need to play the games that’s involved in a sour economy. While I had hoped to stay around the old homestead a few more years, I decided to go ahead and ready the house for sale. And I’ll take the money (it’s paid for!) and escape this mess known as Southern Kalifornia. In a few weeks I hope to load the little U-Haul with a few important things, like computer equipment, and point myself to the way northern part of the state. So look out NorKali, I’m moving (back) in.
Once I finish clean, painting and planting I will be back working on the product lines for LCSims. Some freeware, some donation-ware and the commercial product line. One computer has been very busy downloading some good source material. And once relocated to NorKali a good amount of time will be spent developing reasonably priced, yet quality based products for FSX and that new thing Microsoft has been teasing us about.
In a short time I’ll have the full site back online, I just want to double-check it and make sure it’s ready to upload. Until then, Thank You for stopping by. Maybe there will be something developed along the way that catches your eye and I’ll be happy to have you as a satisfied customer.
